Subject: project High Pressure Resination System

Dear madam / sir,

our member company IMAL is developing a novel technology in the engineered wood sector for the reduction of resins content in panels by a new High Pressure Resination System.

The innovation project ““HPRS” is co-financed by European Union under the programme “LIFE+”.

The main goal of the project is the reduction of resin consumption of 10 to 20% depending on kind of panel and process used, through the introduction of processing logic based on surface instead of weight, and the design of new injectors with variable geometry and high pressure.

This will allow a consistent reduction in the emission of formaldehyde-based toxic chemicals (10%) and a 15% reduction in energy consumption in the blending process, plus an additional 5% energy saving in the MDF drying process.
